Indeed. I think the only rebranding needed would be in America though.
Interestingly, VW dropped the DKW name because it was associated with two strokes so the DKW F102 became the Audi when it got a four stroke.

I read a story about NSU owners in Germany who got aggressive comments because of their cars and some idiots allegedly even got their NSUs vandalized.
